If you're a personal trainer, then you know that the key to success is to build a rapport with your clientele.
There are a lot of online training platforms like WeStrive that offer 1000's of exercise videos to go along with a fitness program builder. These exercises are great, especially since they are instantly available and easy to use.
However, over time your goal should be to build up your own exercise library for your clients to utilize. With that being said, here are 5 reasons to upload your own exercise videos.
1) Building out your own library - Content is king
The phrase, "content is king" has been around for year now. Every marketer on the planet has said it at some point and here I am saying it again.
Content is king essentially refers to the fact that the more content you have, the better. From a telescope view, having 1000 photos & videos of you personally doing exercises is better than having 0. Why? Because you can use that content anywhere and everywhere.
Here's a few ideas off the top of my head:
- Take a Dumbbell Jump Squat video, a Burpees video, and a Dumbbell Bulgarian Split Squat video. Push those videos together and easily post that as a Tik Tok video for a great leg workout.
- Take 10 of your videos involving chest and post them on Instagram as a carousel for 'top 10 options for chest workout'.
I could do this all day. The point is, if you can build your own library up then your growth potential is endless. The more you can be seen - the better!
2) Know your client's form is how you want it to be
When specifically talking about exercise videos, every trainer is different. WeStrive can post 10 different variations of a Dumbbell Bench Press, and that still might not be the form you're looking for.
If you want your clients to follow your exact form on an exercise, then you need to be the one in the video (or someone you're training in the video) completing that exercise. This is especially important for online training since you won't be there to show them how to train.
3) Speed/convenience
Once you have a massive database of exercises, you can build programs way faster for your clients. Even if you're just using Excel to build plans, being able to pull from your own video library is so much faster!
You can build programs on WeStrive 10X faster than Excel, and even then having your own content will still 2X how fast you can build on WeStrive. Having all your own videos at your fingertips is a huge advantage. No need to Google video after video anymore!
4) Control your brand
Again, we're happy to offer you 1000's of photos & videos through WeStrive. However, those videos are of other exercisers and trainers.
To give your clients the full experience, you'll want them to have access to content that features you.
Also, If you have a brand logo then you should try and include that in the video as well! The more you can be seen - the better!
5) Clients will appreciate it
At the end of the day, you're going to want to have your own videos to make your clients have a better experience. They'll really appreciate seeing your face in the videos!
Just ask one of our trainers, Amy Zarzo how she feels about making her own content:
"I like uploading my own exercise video content to make it feel more personal for my clients. WeStrive an app for them to communicate with me and feel like I'm with them during their workouts even when I'm not!"
One question - When are you going to start taking your exercise videos for your clients?
